The Band

Zep'Tepi          (Who are they?)

Zep'Tepi started in Glasgow some five years ago, when two young aspiring musicians in love with all things Zeppelin came to the point were they had to play this powerful music to an audience that hadn't yet been introduced to the joy's of Zeppelin.
The first attempts of this however proved to be a hard and continuous up hill struggle with set back after set back three drummers, two singers, numerous guitarists you name it and we tried it!
Things seemed to settle for a bit but with a line up of five in the band something didn't seem quite right.
With Alex on vocals, Pete on drums, David on bass, keyboards and mandolin and Laura and Eddie on guitar it became a bit of a strain playing some smaller venues especially for a singer trying to sing over two guitars playing Jimmy Page riffs!
After a while though it was Pete our drummer who would depart, so this left us with rehearsal after rehearsal of drummers, eventually after much thumping we found Lewis John Gault who was an inspiration to us all but unfortunately this was also only to last for a short while.
It wasn't utill a few months later we had a stroke of luck and Derek a drummer with another Led Zeppelin tribute band familiar to us all decided that he would like to join us and things all of a sudden seemed to click.
Eventually through years of different line ups we had one that worked unfortunately we lost our other guitarist Eddie which left Alex on vocals & harmonica, Laura on electric Guitar, acoustic guitar, theremin, backing vocals David on bass, keyboards mandolin Derek on drums & percussion.
This eventually takes us to the current line up thank god!
We are the youngest Zeppelin tribute act in the U.K and if you want a taste of what we are all about come along and see for yourself!
Unlike most Zeppelin tribute acts we play from the early blues of Zep one and two to the acoustic beauty of Zep three right through to the all out rock and roll grooves with the funk over tones of "Houses" to "Presence", from John paul Jones keyboard antics in No Quarter or bass mastery in the Lemon song to Page's Violin bow solo's and Theremin sections.

The live shows are performed in costume from "The song remains the same"  you name it right down to the equipment from Acoustic 370 bass amps to Original MXR phase 90 pedals and an Echoplex we have all the retro gear.
Many bands try hard to recreate the sound of Zeppelin but as we found out, it is one of the most unique and hard things to acomplish.
We try to recreate the true raw bluesy sound of Zeppelin not the synthetic guitar sound that most bands try to pass off as a Page sound and even those Robert Plant fraudsters that sound more like 80's hasbeens YOU KNOW WHO I MEAN!
Our aim from day one is to play Led Zeppelin the natural silky smooth bass, pounding beats, powerful soaring guitars and all out bluesy rock vocals. And that just describing one song, they were so diverse. They will always be timeless, classic and also bloody good looking.
While you are visiting why not have a look around, see what you think and please feel free to leave comments be they good or bad.
We will try to keep you posted on all things Zeppelin and Zep'Tepi.
Thanks
